Food, shelter or medicine

No gift is too small or too large. Over 33,000 Catawba County citizens have to choose between hunger, home, or health every day. Your support can make a difference. Every $5 you give is providing someone with so much more…a bag of groceries, another month of housing, a much needed bottle of insulin. For giving options click on the quick link “How can you help?”

Honor Cards

Honor Cards
We can provide honor cards for all occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, remember someone, thank someone, recognize someone or just because…..ANY reason is accepted! It is a great way to support GHCCM and let someone know you are thinking of them. To get your honor cards, please contact Lillian Carte at 327-0979 ext. 231, or ldcarte@ccmhickory.com.

Crisis Intervention Services

Crisis Intervention Services include: the Client Services Department, which offers rent/mortgage/utilities assistance and a shower ministry, the Work and Ride program, Emergency Food, and clothing vouchers in our Thrift Store.

GHCCM partners with many other groups in Hickory/Catawba County to provide services to those in need in accordance with Matthew 25.

The Crisis Intervention Program (CIP) with Catawba County Department of Social Services is now available at GHCCM. Bringing the CIP qualification process to GHCCM helps our clients minimize the time it takes to apply for assistance from multiple sources.

GHCCM has partnered with Mental Health Partners to house a case manager for the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP).  This program was created through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The purpose is to provide homelessness prevention assistance to households who otherwise may become homeless due to economic crisis.

Volunteers are always sought. We are a volunteer-driven organization! We have over 180 volunteers.

See our Eligibility Requirements page before you come to apply for services.
