No gift is too small or too large. Over 33,000 Catawba County citizens have to choose between hunger, home, or health every day. Your support can make a difference. Every $5 given provides someone with so much more…a bag of groceries, another month of housing, a much needed bottle of insulin. For giving options click on the quick link “How can you help?”

Honor Cards
We provide honor cards for all occasions: birthdays, anniversaries, remember someone, thank someone, recognize someone or just because. It is a great way to support GHCCM and let someone know you are thinking of them. To get your honor cards, contact Lillian Carte at 327-0979 ext. 231.

In the parable of the Good Samaritan, as told by Jesus in the Gospel of Luke (10:25-37), a Jewish traveler is beaten, robbed, and left half dead along the road. First a priest and then a Levite come by, but both avoid the man. Finally, a Samaritan comes by. Samaritans and Jews generally despise each other, but the Samaritan helps the injured Jew.
Jesus is described as telling the parable in response to a question regarding the identity of the "neighbor" which Leviticus 19:18 says should be loved. Klyne Snodgrass writes "On the basis of this parable we must deal with our own racism but must also seek justice for, and offer assistance to, those in need, regardless of the group to which they belong”.
We at GHCCM believe this parable speaks to us about helping our neighbors. We only ask that evidence of need and service area data are presented to receive our services. Further, in Matthew 25, Jesus makes it clear that we are called upon to help those around us, not just those who look like us or believe the same things we believe.
It is good to help the world. We suggest you start by helping your hurting neighbors - right here, right now.
The 35,000 Catawba County residents we help each have their own individual stories.
Blessings,
